Logo for ME!

To start the process of coming up with a logo for myself, I thought of some words that would describe me. I identify most with the force of water from the natural elements; the view of ocean or river has always been my favorite, too. It tends to give me a calm energy from within, despite the subtle waves on the surface. I also think of my frequent traveling or moving around the world to be one of the most important aspects of my life. All in all, I thought the concept of waves served well to represent me.

Another approach to iconography that I decided to take is to derive from the “history” of my branding. I have used the following illustration of me by my partner @jingsketch as the banner / logo on my website for a while. I wanted to draw elements from the painting—side profile of a girl with large earring and flowing hair—for my new re-branded logo.

I started off with some sketches on paper, which proved to be difficult. Then, using the iPad and Apple Pencil, I drafted the logo digitally until I arrived at the final version. I’m proud to present my brand new logo!
